What Does Overnight Care With A Newborn Care Professional Look Like?
You may have found your way to this website with a clear idea in your mind about what overnight care with a newborn care professional looks like but you also may have found us out of desperation without a clue in the world! On this blog I want to walk you through what it looks like to be supported by a Newborn Care professional during our overnight care services.
Our professionals will show up in purple, monogrammed scrubs. We want to make sure that you know who to look for and feel comfortable with the person in your home. You will always know who to look! Once we enter the home, we are there for you. You can hand us the baby, say goodnight and head to bed! We are happy to do it all. When the baby (or babies!) are fed and comfortable in their beds, we will wash pump parts and nighttime dishes, clean up a bit and maybe fold a load of laundry. Because we offer asleep care (this means that we sleep when the baby sleeps. If you are interested in awake care, feel free to email us!), we will head to bed until baby is squirmy and needs some calming. We may rock or soothe and if we feel the time is right (based on yours and doctors orders!) we will feed baby. This may look like bringing baby to you to nurse and then retreiving baby for diaper changes, burping and swaddling. We want you to get as much rest as possible while we are there so we work hard not to disturb you past the normal nursing session.
In the morning, depending on the time and babies previous night, we may tidy up a bit more or make a quick breakfast to leave on the counter. Often times we try to sneak out before you are even awake so that you can get another few hours of precious sleep. We work closely with you to ensure that your preferences are upheld and followed.
Maybe you arent quite ready to head to bed yet and have a few questions about baby care. We are happy to assist! We’ve seen and cared for a lot of babies and are very confident in helping you find what works for you! Maybe you need a shoulder to cry on, a friend who can give advice or wisdom from someone who’s done it all. We are here for you! You don’t have to go through these beginning stages of parenthood alone. We want to support you in any way we can.
