Our system of vetting our professionals has been curated to see to it that you are receiving the best possible care for you and your newborn. We understand that the postpartum period (the time between babies' birth and around babies' 9 month birthday) can feel very intense to new parents which is why we take the vetting process very seriously. Which is one of the reasons we have become the doula Kansas City parents can trust completely with their little bundles of joy. We know what to expect when we walk into the home of a new family and how to help you have the best transition possible. Wondering about the care your infant is receiving could easily keep you up at night which is why we work hard to ease your mind with the knowledge that Kansas City Newborn Care really is the best!

We have worked with hundreds of families over the years and our owner, Samantha Moore, feels personally responsible for each and every one that utilizes our services. Our care professionals are kind, hard working, on time and empathetic. We value your time and energy within this new world of parenting and we want your experience with us to shine. We work exclusively with certified postpartum doulas, registered nurses and certified infant teachers to help establish a culture of excellence within Kansas City Newborn Care. Our professionals know how to answer your questions and help keep your baby safe.

One of the reasons that Kansas City Newborn Care is the most qualified day and night nannies for your newborn is the continuous education that we require of our professionals. We are proud to be the highest qualified nanny services Kansas City has to offer. Kansas City Newborn Care Professionals work within our team model to constantly learn new skills, refresh their knowledge on safe feeding and sleep practices and have the most knowledge in postpartum needs. Our team of professionals each bring their own life and work experiences to help us better ourselves and our practices to ensure that you are receiving top quality care.

If you are not on the same page with your partner about newborn care, we urge you to give us a call and let us show you all the ways that we can provide loving, wonderful care for your family during the early months of bringing a new baby into your home. We understand that hiring a professional can feel overwhelming but we try to keep things simple and straightforward so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Partners who weren’t on board before our professionals come into your home quickly turn their opinions around when they see how refreshed and focused they feel after an amazing night of sleep with the help of Kansas City Newborn Care Professionals.

When you choose Kansas City Newborn Care to provide support for your family during the newborn stage, you may be wondering what that entails. Can you hire a professional for day shift and night shift? What about overnight care only? Does your professional help support healthy sleep habits for easy sleep training in the future? The answer to all of these questions is yes.

We have many clients who hire us for a mix of daytime and overnight care. Daytime care is often the perfect opportunity to allow our professionals to help with postpartum and newborn education. We can show you how to bathe your baby, prepare bottles, swaddle baby and so much more. It can be difficult to read your newborns' sleep and feeding cues and as the premier Kansas City sleep trainer, we are happy to walk with you through learning more about your infant. Our professionals are skilled in the art of swaddling babies and using safe sleep techniques to ensure a happier and healthier night of sleep for everyone!

Our overnight care looks slightly different with many parents choosing to maximize sleep time by allowing our professionals to offer full night care for babies. Some parents feel comfortable passing the baby off to our professionals for the night while others seek more of an educational approach. We cater to each feeding style of the family’s choosing including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping and everything in between. Your lactation goals are our goals and we will help foster an environment of breastfeeding success to help you reach them. Our main goal with overnight care for your family is to help you get as much sleep as possible for optimal recovery and focus during the day. We want you to enjoy your postpartum experience, not just endure it until the baby is sleeping soundly each night. Kansas City Newborn Care can help you thrive during this amazing time!

Kansas City Newborn Care also specializes in multiples, specifically twins and triplets. We love working with your babies and watching your multiples grow and flourish. Multiples have such a special bond and we strive to cater to this relationship as we work with each baby individually. Each newborn has their own unique personality and that often shows up in their sleep education. We work to get your babies on a similar schedule to help your family have an easier time with night and day wake ups and feedings. Multiples as newborns can feel overwhelming and it is our job as your Kansas City Newborn Professional to ease that stress and bring calm and focus into your home. We want your experience with multiples to be a joy to remember and we know we can help make that happen.

Our Newborn Care Professionals are highly trained in the world of both singleton newborns and multiples and many of our clients are twin parents looking for a reprieve from caregiving. We encourage all of our families to utilize our services in a way that will best support their family. That could mean leaving us with your newborns so you can enjoy a lunch date with a friend or enjoy a workout without the stress of leaving your newborns in the gym daycare. Our goal is to help you recover mentally, physically and emotionally as you learn to best care for your new additions. One of our jobs is to help you prioritize your family’s needs and find clarity in your new role as parents. Reach out today to see why we are the nanny agency Kansas City relies on.

The care of your newborn and family are the most important job of your Kansas City Newborn Care Professionals. We hope that you will have an experience that helps you thrive and shine throughout your postpartum recovery and the newness or your new beautiful family. We can’t wait to walk with you through each step of this process and watch your sweet little one grow during the next few months. We look forward to talking with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Nutrition during the postpartum period is a crucial part of healthy recovery for new parents. Healthy eating and living can often be brushed to the side while parents work to learn more about their infant and how best to prioritize their time. Kansas City Newborn Care Professionals are educated in healthy food choices to ensure your body is healing from the inside out. Our professionals are happy to prepare snacks, make meals or even grocery shop with your needs in mind.

If you are looking for the best infant care in Kansas City then we have got you covered. We focus on a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, and healthy fats to support the body's healing process and help replenish nutrient stores depleted during pregnancy and childbirth. Adequate protein intake is essential for tissue repair and milk production, while iron is crucial to prevent postpartum anemia. Calcium and vitamin D support bone health, particularly important if breastfeeding. Hydration is equally vital, especially for milk production and overall recovery. Drinking plenty of water and fluids like herbal teas can help maintain adequate hydration levels. Our professionals are experts at reminding mom to hydrate and fuel up because you have more important things on your mind!

Postpartum nutrition should also prioritize foods that support mood and energy levels. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts can support brain health and alleviate postpartum depression symptoms. Additionally, Kansas City Newborn Care professionals always consider the cultural practices and traditions around postpartum nutrition in each family's communities, which often emphasize nutrient-dense foods believed to promote healing and lactation. Taking care of yourself first is key to being able to take care of your baby in the long term!

  • We absolutely work with multiples. Twins and triplets (or more if necessary!) are our bread and butter and all of our Kansas City Newborn Professionals are educated on how to offer the best care for your little ones. We work to help get your babies on the same schedule to ensure that feeding and sleeping times are made easier. Multiples are so much fun and are also twice the amount of work for new parents. You aren’t just getting to know one baby, you have to get to know two completely different personalities and work to help each one thrive in the world. We can help you establish routines and offer some tips and tricks to make those first few months with your little ones so much easier. These and many more are some of the reasons we have become the premier agency for infant care Kansas City can offer!

Our twin and triplet providers possess the perfect mix of patience, organization and love to help your twins and triplets blossom in both their daytime and nighttime sleep. Communication with parents is essential to ensure consistency in caregiving practices and to provide updates on the twins' and triplets progress and milestones. Kansas City Newborn Professionals will also provide emotional support to both children, fostering their individual personalities while nurturing their bond as siblings. We want your family to thrive during this exciting time!

  • There are so many different ways that families choose to feed their babies. Bottle feeding, breastfeeding, formula feeding, pumping, a mix of all or exclusive to one, our professionals are educated in every option and can help you decide or support you in the choices that you are making. If your baby is exclusively breastfeeding, we are more than happy to support you in that choice and that includes nighttime feedings as well. We always aim to provide the lactation consultant Kansas City mothers deserve! Our professionals will communicate with you when the baby is awake and bring your newborn straight to you for feeding during your overnight care shift. When your baby is done nursing, we will take your infant back to their room for diaper changing, rocking and gas prevention. Our job is to help the baby get back to sleep so that your job of getting the best night sleep possible can be fulfilled!

Our goals are your goals. If you are wanting your newborn to give you longer stretches of sleep, we can work to make that happen. Sometimes we have clients who want to pump in the middle of the night and give their baby a bottle so that their sleep isn't interrupted by the back and forth of the night nurse or night nanny coming into their room. We are happy to cater to these needs as well. Washing pump parts and preparing your pumping station is one of our duties as postpartum and newborn care professionals. Whatever you decide, we are right by your side to support you.

  • We love working with older children! During our daytime care shifts we often work with older siblings to ensure that everyone is receiving the care that they need. You may just want to take a midday nap and your toddler isn't having it. We encourage our clients to take their babies with them for a snuggle hour while we care for the home and your older children. Our professionals play a mean Guess Who? and our bead necklace game is on point! Although we do not drive with your children in the car due to insurance reasons, we are happy to take a walk to the park to work out some energy and give your home a little peace for recovery.

Maybe you don’t want to bring your newborn with you and you need a little shut eye during your daytime shift? We can take all of the children and encourage activities that work for everyone as well as facilitate bonding for the new siblings. We are also great snack makers and will help make healthy snacks and meals for your children so you can check another thing off the list!

  • Kansas City Newborn Care Professionals are the most professional and high quality care providers in Kansas City. When you hire a Newborn Care Professional to come to your home, we want you to know that they are vetted, insured and background checked to ensure the highest caliber of care for your little one. We are not an independent nanny looking to work with one family at a time. We are a top notch provider agency who strives to provide the families of Kansas City with the best. We know that inviting someone into your home during the postpartum stage can cause some anxieties and questions. I think you will quickly find that your professional is the postpartum support you always hoped for and your anxieties will be quickly quelled.

Having a Newborn Care Professional in your home is like inviting a postpartum fairy godmother to care for your needs, some of which you didn’t even know you had! We want to show our families what newborn care can look like when a professional team is working together. We aim to reach and exceed every expectation of our clients.

As far as what the Newborn Care Professional needs, for daytime care, absolutely nothing. We don’t want to be an extra burden on your plate but rather a reprieve for your family. For overnight care we do require sleeping arrangements near the baby which can include a comfortable couch or clean bed for us to rest our head between wake ups and feedings. We suggest having us and your baby’s sleep set up as far away from you as possible so that you can get maximum sleep. We don’t want baby grunts to keep you awake! We are so happy to be the night nurse Kansas City parents can trust with their babies. And of course, if you have any further questions or concerns, our owner and Newborn Care planner, Samantha Moore, is happy to discuss them during our phone call!

  • We do have a small group of clients who are looking for in-hospital care. This may be for a variety of reasons including single parenthood, a traveling partner or other life circumstances that may cause mom to be alone in the hospital. We love working with our clients in the hospital setting and are happy to support you in whatever ways we can. We can meet our clients in the postpartum room directly after birth or come to the hospital later. Whatever you choose, our objectives are the same. We want you to sleep, recover and bond with your new addition and we will work to facilitate that every step of the way.

  • Absolutely OK! The nature of this work is that of unpredictability. There’s no way to know when babies will come, how they will come or how they will embrace this new world they just entered. You may have an amazing sleeper during the first weeks after birth who rapidly turns into less of a sleeper as the weeks go on. There’s simply no way to know and we understand that! We have many clients who know without a doubt that having the peace of mind of a Newborn Care professional looking after their baby seven nights a week is just what they need. We have other clients who feel good about one or two nights a week during the first few months after birth. So, if you need a part time nanny Kansas City mothers trust, then we are here to help. Kansas City Newborn Care is set up to cater to every need and lifestyle. Our curated packages are based on your personal needs and preferences and if you're not sure what that is right away, that's OK too! We are always happy to add on to services as we go.

One thing to be aware of is that we do give priority to our new newborn clients. This is why it’s important to secure your spot in our calendar early so that your professionals are locked in and you know what to expect! As the year moves along we cannot always guarantee the same professional will be assigned to you and as we shift into new contracts you may see some new faces or have some dates that we are unavailable. We will always do our best to support our clients and cater to each individual's needs.

  • Many of our clients find us in the throes of an exhausted early morning after a rough night of no sleep. We definitely work with clients even after they have welcomed their newborn. Maybe you heard about us from a trusted friend and are ready to jump on board. We will always do our best to find a care provider for you. Our schedules often begin nine months in advance as families plan for the care they need as soon as they find out they are pregnant. That definitely doesn’t mean it’s the only way to schedule! We will do our best to fulfill your families needs and get you the Kansas City doula care you seek!

  • Living in Missouri means that you never know what you will get weather wise! Between hail, intense rain, thunderstorms and tornadoes, every day is an adventure! What looks like bad weather in the morning could be clear skies by the afternoon. Because of this, we keep our policy pretty loose and give discretion to our professionals. If they are comfortable driving in the conditions, they will be there! If they begin their drive and find the conditions to be extremely unsafe, we urge them to go back home. Nothing is worth the risk of danger to our trusted Newborn Care Professionals. We also work hard to pair professionals with families that are close to where they live. Our professionals spread from the Northland and Kearney all the way to Belton and beyond. We often travel between 30 and 60 minutes to fulfill the shifts our clients schedule.

Our sickness policy is similar. Our Newborn Care Professionals will use their discretion to decide what is best for them, their families and your family. We never want to introduce an illness to your newborn through us. It is crucial that your baby stays healthy and that your home stays a healthy place. We never want to be the reason a baby is sick. If our home has an illness and we feel uncomfortable about the potential spread of that illness, we will do everything in our power to schedule alternate care with another care provider or we will reschedule your shift.

We are so careful in what we are introducing into your home and we ask that you do the same for us. If your family is experiencing an illness, please inform us before the shift starts. Quarantine of the ill party is important for the health of everyone. If it is a household sickness we will reschedule that shift for another day. The health of our care providers is the health of the families that we serve. If at any time our professionals feel concerned for their health or safety while in your home they are under contract to report it to our owner, Samantha Moore who will then take steps to find a safe alternative. Please read your contract thoroughly to ensure an understanding of each of these policies. We want to provide the best child care in Kansas City that is possible and open and clear communication and expectations is where we start!

  • We do have a handful of Professionals who are able to schedule these types of care trips with  your family. We bill these trips as full 24 hour/day professional business trips and our care providers are paid as such. All expenses for the care provider are paid through the client upfront and your professional will be at your call for care. We believe that family trips can be low stress and so fun for everyone and having an extra pair of hands on the airplane and throughout the trip can give peace of mind to parents wanting to enjoy every moment of their trip!

  • From here it’s easy! You can click this Let’s Get Started button and fill out the form and schedule a phone call with our Newborn Care planner and owner, Samantha Moore. She will walk you through each step and work to explain every answer you may need. We want to help ease your mind with this process and we strive to keep it simple so that you can focus on more important things like bonding with your new addition! We can’t wait to serve you Kansas City!
